Sending a shipment of school and medical supplies
Imagine a school without books. No books to research or to inspire. Only copy books and a few text books. There is no local bookstore, no access to the Internet, no library. Not yet, anyway...
BUT NOW ... we have built and supplied a computer lab and soon we will have shelving for our library. Children will learn how to type and use computers. They will learn with educational software and books - books on geography, astronomy, dinosaurs (and all kinds of wonderful creatures), world history, art, etc. And one day soon they will have Internet accssess, too! Imagine their world expanding.
Schools like Penn Charter, Haverford Friends, Friends Central, and Bryn Mawr College have made substantial donations, as have individuals who have collected books, computers and school supplies from numerous sources. Without the efforts of these individuals and institutions, these facilitieswould not be possible.
Thanks to the generosity of Capital Lease, Hapag Lloyd and DHL, the majority of shipping costs were donated by the supplying companies.
Our mission is to strengthen poor rural communities in Ghana, W. Africa through targeted projects in education, health and poverty reduction. We believe the most effective ways to facilitate long term sustainable change is through education of children and through direct help and advice to local responsible non-profit organizations. We seek to empower communities to improve their schools, water sources and health conditions.
